Jillian Kestler-D’Amours of Al Jazeera examines President Trump’s decision to keep Guantanamo Bay prison open and its effects on America’s image around the world. President Bush and President Obama both agreed that the United States should shut down Guantanamo; President Obama signed an Executive Order to close the facility within the first days of his presidency. Karen Greenberg, Director of the Center on National Security, believes that the "idea of institutionalising Guantanamo is wrong now, it was wrong in the past [and] it's always going to be wrong.”
