CNS Fellow and CNN’s national security analyst, Peter Bergen, predicts that Americans who’ve been affected medically and/or financially by the COVID-19 pandemic will “demand to know why the United States failed to adequately prepare for… a crisis that was both foreseeable and foreseen.” He says a coronavirus commission will be able to analyze the shortcomings of the response and recommend ways to better respond to a future pandemic or bioterrorism attack.
