“Changing face of terrorism” Vice
Vice reports on the case of a white supremacist, James Jackson, allegedly targeting and killing a black man, Timothy Caughman, in Manhattan. Jackson has been indicted on state terrorism charges. Karen Greenberg said, “the federal government has prosecuted nearly 500 cases of international terrorism over the past 15 years, there have been only a “handful” of state prosecutions across the country.” However, the state of New York is one of the places that has pursued domestic terrorism cases over the last few years. This case is significant because it might expand the definition of terrorism to groups and people that do not have international affiliations.
