"Judge to U.S.: Yes, Really, Torture is Illegal" Mother Jones

Today, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani could not be tried in the federal courthouse in Manhattan. Judge Kaplan cited that coerced statements, or torture evidence, is impermissible in U.S. courts. For Ghailani, this could mean being held as an enemy combatant "until hostilities between the United States and al Qaeda and the Taliban end."
