Ali Soufan is the founder of The Soufan Center. Mr. Soufan is a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent who investigated and supervised highly sensitive and complex international terrorism cases, including the East Africa Embassy Bombings, the attack on the USS Cole, and the events surrounding 9/11. Mr. Soufan also served on the FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force, where he coordinated both domestic and international counterterrorism operations. Mr. Soufan is the author of The New York Times Top 10 Bestseller, "The Black Banners: The Inside Story of 9/11 and the War Against al Qaeda" and the forthcoming “Anatomy of Terror.”
Ed Husain is a Senior Adviser and Director of Strategy at the Centre on Religion and
Geopolitics. Author of the bestselling book The Islamist (Penguin, 2007), Mr. Husain writes and speaks extensively on international threats from radicalization to terrorism and has appeared on CNN, Fox, NPR, BBC, and Al-Jazeera, and writes regularly for publications including the New York Times, Financial Times, and the Guardian. Mr. Husain founded the world's first counter-extremism think tank, Quilliam, in 2008, and has advised government leaders and policy makers around the world.
Ali Velshi is a Canadian television journalist, Chief Business Correspondent for NBC News, and anchor of MSNBC Live on the news division's cable network, MSNBC. Best known for his work on CNN, he was CNN's Chief Business Correspondent, Anchor of CNN's Your Money and a co-host of CNN International's weekday business show World Business Today.
