On September 19, 2017, the Center on National Security hosted a conversation on CVE with Quilliam Founder Maajid Nawaz and CNS Director Karen Greenberg .
Maajid Nawaz is a counter-extremist, author, columnist, broadcaster and Founding Chairman of Quilliam – a globally active organisation focusing on matters of integration, citizenship & identity, religious freedom, immigration, extremism and terrorism. Maajid’s autobiographical account of his life story ‘RADICAL’ has been released in the UK and US, as well as his second co-authored book “Islam and the Future of Tolerance”.
Quilliam is the world’s first counter-extremism organization. It aims to generate creative, informed and inclusive discussions to counter the ideological underpinnings of terrorism, while simultaneously providing evidence-based policy recommendations to governments, and building civil society networks and programs to lead the change towards a more positive future. They have recently launched a North American division.
