“Why Does Syria Still Have Chemical Weapons?” NBC News

Robert Windrem reports that officials from the U.N. and U.S. believe it is possible that Bashar al-Assad’s regime could have either retained a stockpile of or manufactured more chemical weapons. Windrem writes that the officials have been concerned about Syria’s compliance with an agreement in 2013 to not develop or use chemical weapons. Sarin gas, a nerve agent, can be manufactured in small facilities and chemical weapons storage and production facilities have not been detected through international  monitoring.
