“U.S. Officials: Syria Gas Attack Consistent With Nerve Agent” NBC News
Robert Windrem reports that U.S. officials believe that sarin gas or another nerve agent was used as a chemical weapon in an attack on the town of Khan Sheikhoun in Syria. Over 400 people are reported injured and 100 people died from the attack. United Nations observers said that the chemical weapons originated with the Bashar al-Assad regime’s stockpile. Officials from the United States and world organizations believe that Assad’s government is responsible for the attack while Syria and Russia claim that the attack was caused by rebels.
